Please join Celebrity Grand Marshal King Boreas Rex LXXXIII of the St. Paul Winter Carnival, Roseville’s own Monte Johnson, for the Rose Parade on Monday, June 24. Johnson is a long-time Roseville resident.
Johnson has volunteered with Roseville Parks and Recreation, Roseville Youth Basketball Association, Central Park Foundation, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Minnesota Special Olympics and more. The Royal motto of the 83rd Boreas is “Celebrate Community Service.”
In addition, this year’s Community Grand Marshal will be the Brausen family, owners of Brausen’s Automotive. With more than 50 years in the Roseville area, including 38 at their Roseville location, Brausen’s Automotive has been a staple of Roseville for generations. This third generation family business has been a longtime supporter of Roseville community and neighborhood groups.
Grand Marshals are selected by the Rose Parade Committee. Nominations for Grand Marshal are accepted through January 15 of each year.
The Rose Parade is one of the largest parades in the Twin Cities, with more than 90 entrants, including a dozen marching bands. The parade begins at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, June 24.
If you can’t join in person, watch it live on Cable Channel 16 or CTV 15. The parade will also be replayed on both stations. See the Channel 16 schedule at www.cityofroseville.com/cable or the CTV 15 schedule at www.ctv15.org for dates and times.
