[ARCHIVED] Say No to the TOW

It’s here. Forecasters are predicting several more inches of snow over the next few days. In addition to taking precautions while driving, please avoid parking on the street. Once the snow accumulation reaches more than two inches, city crews start plowing. Vehicles parked on the street in Roseville, may be ticketed or towed.

Roseville does not declare snow emergencies. Instead, the city enforces an on-street parking ban once two inches of snow has fallen within 48 hours. Our best advice is not to park on a street when snow is predicted.

It doesn’t have to finish snowing for the parking ban to take effect. The ban remains in effect until both sides of the street have been plowed. The fine is $25 plus towing and impounding costs. The City recommends that residents, visitors and guests play it safe. Even if a small amount of snow is forecast, please do not park on the street.

Roseville has a Snow and Ice Control Policy that sets plowing priorities and guidelines. We encourage residents to become familiar with this policy. Log on to www.cityofroseville.com/snow or visit Roseville’s Engineering Department to review the policy.
